Client Complaint: Cold, draughty - in need of modernisation

This 1950s single story bungalow was renovated and extended into an A rated home.

The main features of this conversion were:

• The installation of roof and external wall insulation.
• Laid new floors throughout the house, which contained 200mm insulation.
• Installed triple glazed windows.
• We taped and sealed the house so it achieved an air pressure result of 3.38 air changes per hour.
• Installed Lunos ventilation system.
• Installed rainwater harvesting system, storing rainwater for reuse.
• Hot water provided by solar collectors.
• Installed wood chip boiler and under floor heating, thermostatically controlled in each room making it highly responsive.
